It's been two days since Chase made it out of Cinderella with his friends unharmed, all thanks to Buddy. After a well-deserved rest, he and Deacon finally decide to get into a book again. However and for some reason beyond Deacon's comprehension, Chase seems more excited than ever about it.
The thing is that it's been two days since he and Buddy last saw each other, and Chase can't stand to wait another minute.

Summary
Princess Andromeda of Lilindell’s safety is of the utmost importance, so her guards must be chosen very carefully—guards that flock to the palace like suitors, to compete against one another in a series of tests to prove themselves worthy of protecting the future queen. What neither the princess nor her steely-eyed father know is that one of these guards is actually a simple village girl, masquerading as a male guard under the name of “Capelle”, come to the palace with one goal in mind—a goal that, under no circumstances, can the intriguing and strangely alluring princess know.
Only one problem—This entire tale takes place within a storybook that someone picked up from the local library and forgot about. The enigmatic Capelle is, in fact, a starry-eyed teenage boy with hair the color of gold named Chase, and the fabled Princess Andromeda, a sulky stranger with a strange grasp on humanity named Nox.

He shouldn’t know any of this, but he does and it’s driving him fucking crazy.
It just makes him seem so much more… human. So much more Chase. Chase Hollow, apparently, according to the nametag stuck on his backpack next to all of the star stickers.
And seeing Chase as a regular, kind-hearted, goofy, completely normal teenage boy—that was not supposed to happen. Nox is supposed to see Chase as the enemy—as the annoying human obstacle in the way of his plans.
What he’s not supposed to do is feel giddy when the annoying human obstacle unknowingly invades his secret base.
