When Light is offered the ability to lengthen his life indefinitely, it seems like the perfect choice for his New World. However, the cost is quite steep- he'll be under Ryuk's complete control, and Ryuk has a lot more needs than just 'apples.'

L pressed his hands into his pockets, wide eyes staring at Light. "I solved the case. I proved you're Kira. We're done."

"AU where L wins and instead of sending Light to prison or his execution he lets Light go but ruins any potential promising career prospect he has for shits and giggles. Nobody knows Light is Kira, but he'll never be able to work in any career path that interests him bc L's petty ass keeps getting him fired. Light is stuck working shitty customer service jobs and he's one bad day away from strangling someone. L thinks this is a great punishment for an egomaniac and that it might humble his god complex and Ryuk finds this sooo entertaining he ends up sticking around for the rest of Light's miserable life."

Next thing they know the building is under attack by... also Light?...no, that thing can't be Light. They have Light in their custody... But Light isn't seeming quite like himself...

Summary Near confines Light, and soon after burns the death notes- removing Light's memories. Light tries to figure out what's happened to him, with only Ryuk (who he can't see or hear, but who writes to him... and does other stuff...), and Matsuda to help.Light wishes they would both stop telling him he's Kira.

He is foreign to himself. He can’t believe he’s been running around playing the innocent ingénue all these months, giving so little consideration to the traps L’s laid for him since the beginning. Offering L trust, and friendship, and, most unbelievably, the use of his body.
The sick part is that stupid, earnest Yagami Light, who pinky-promised he wasn’t Kira and just wanted to get to the bottom of this oh-so-terrible situation, hadn’t thought to weaponize that particular tool at all. At all!
The end of L's life is rapidly approaching. Light is going to make him pay for all of the embarrassingly sweet and willing sex he's been handing over for the past three months. In spades.

Death Note users don’t go to heaven or hell. Instead, Ryuk sends Light to an alternative universe where the Death Note exists but it doesn’t fall within his grasp. Even though he doesn’t have the Death Note, L still suspects him and the worst part is that in this new world he is an omega. Hilarity ensues.
