“No! I wanted to ask if you would like to go on a date with me? sometime?” They seemed uncertain, losing their corage by the second. The table went silent. Kirishima’s eyes widened, and Mina let out a suprised squeak of excitement. Kaminari and Sero exchanged mischievous look before they both burst into laughter, clearly amused by the unexpected scene.
“Whoa, wait is this for real?” Kaminari snickered, whiping a tear from the corner of his eye “Did someone dare you to ask him out or something?”
“Yeah, seriously,” Sero added with a grin. “ I mean, of all people, you pick Bakugou? Are you out of your mind?”OR

Still. What would be the harm in letting it play out? It's not dangerous if he knows he's being catfished. No, if he knows about it, then it's basically like a fun little roleplay. No harm, no foul.

Steve furrows his brows and blinks twice. He swallows the lump in his throat. He’s scared. “What do you mean? You had to follow your dreams, Eddie.”
“No.” Eddie shakes his head. “No, Steve, that’s not the reason.”
“What?” His voice is so quiet. It always gets this quiet. In moments like these, it always gets this quiet.
Eddie takes a deep breath. It’s trembling and he sighs.“Steve, I didn’t just leave Chicago,” he says. “I left you.”
Something cracks open deep inside of Steve. It cracks open and hurt spills out, spills out and over until his whole chest is filled and it feels as though he’s sinking into the ground. His voice is barely there when he asks, “What do you mean?”
or: When Steve sees Eddie again years after they drifted apart, he can’t breathe. He doesn’t really know why. Eddie’s gorgeous, though. So gorgeous and Steve- Steve’s just so confused.
