The Luna Wolves host a joyful celebration, true to their reputation. The Astartes welcome their Word Bearer brothers with open arms, the food and drink are plentiful, and Horus... Horus is even more magnetic than Lorgar remembered, quick to smile and invite his listeners into a joke, his eyes sparkling with life. Every little incidental touch, his hand on Lorgar's shoulder or arm, feels like a beacon. He's a triumphant, shining demigod, and one day he will be more than that.
Merciless Gods, how is Lorgar supposed to do this? He's never had to convince someone who didn't already know what he was offering. He's never wanted someone to accept the offer like this—partly because Horus is so important to the future, but also because he's just the most compelling person Lorgar has ever met. It's hard to even look anywhere else.
