    Sometimes, in the middle of conversation, Donatello will refer to deprogramming, which to Cassandra’s understanding of coding, is the opposite of what one would want to do with a coding project. Perhaps it’s a synonym of sorts to decryption, but never will come a time where Cassandra intentionally initiates an infodump from the Hamato child who stores more information than sense.

    The word comes apropos, as well, so it must be some sort of metaphor. The instances on Cassandra’s mind occur when Donatello is caught in a rare moment not fiddling with a piece of technology, which goes directly against the connotations of programming.

    Casey blinked at the turtle. The adrenaline was already fading into a bone-deep weariness. “There are thermometers for ears?”

    “There’s thermometers for many things, Casey Jones.”

    “Like butts!” Leo whooped from the other side of the room.

    Donnie sighed, pinching the bridge above his nose. “I detest the fact that he’s not wrong.”

    Leo twiddled his fingers to an invisible air guitar.

    Casey pressed his palm to his forehead. “M’head hurts.”

    or, it's a Casey Jones Jr. sickfic, and it turns out that fever-induced delirium is not fun for someone who most definitely has not processed their trauma.

    The word "soft" has a lot of different meanings.

    It can refer to something that is comfortable or it can refer to someone who is much too kind-hearted.

    In Donatello's case, the word "soft" meant yielding, pliable, delicate, fine, breakable.

    Oh so very breakable.
