Summary
Thirty years ago, Vox and Alastor were inseparable. That was then. In the now, the only time they talk at all is to hurl insults during their Brawl of the Week.
Following Charlie’s unfortunate visit to Valentino’s studio, Vox goes the hotel to do some damage control. But when Alastor's attempt at meddling reveals still raw wounds, the two rivals are left to grapple with long-buried emotions after the fallout of their parting is thrown in their faces.
But Hell cares little for the personal drama of Overlords, and just as Vox and Alastor are considering their futures, moves are made, new enemies make themselves known, and Vox finds himself thrown into the center of it all. The fight has begun and no one is prepared for what lurks beneath the surface—watching, waiting, and preparing to strike.

Summary
When Alastor suggests hypnotizing Vincent, Vincent’s initial reaction is to laugh at how ridiculous the idea is. When he’s talked into the idea, Vincent still thinks it won’t work. His mind is too strong. Magic isn’t real. Hypnotism certainly isn’t a thing. Vincent stares at the pocket watch in front of him with full belief that he’s going to sit here for two minutes and then be done with it. All of the sudden—he’s waking up the next morning with perfect clarity on all of the embarrassing things he was made to do.

"Fuck! Al! That's so tight- hrk!" Vox wheezed, head hanging down as blood rushed to his head.
"You're resilient, Vincent, you'll be just fine. Now quit squirming…" Alastor chuckled darkly, enjoying the feeling of Vox thrashing against his tentacles. After a quick fight, they'd ended up on the ground in each other's grasp: Vox wrapped in shadowy tentacles and Alastor astride his hips, wrapped in Vox's cables.
A cable wrapped around Alastor's waist and tugged him down hard onto Vox's hips, his glowing face a smirk. "Thought you liked it when I squirmed?" He bucked his hips up, only to be slammed down into the ground by the tentacles around his limbs and throat. "ACK!"
"Stay. Down. Vox." Alastor growled, voice full of static and emanating from the glowing radio grill of his teeth. His claws dug into the cables wrapped around his own body and tugged, cables fraying and splitting. "Be a good little pup and take what you're given."

Summary
Vox is a bartender who spends his afterlife serving other people; remembering their orders, bringing them their drinks and cleaning up their mess. All with a strained smile, wishing he was elsewhere.
Vox thought he hated losing control, spending his afterlife behind the bar and not in front of it is a great challenge. However he soon realises handing over his agency to someone else can be rewarding… Alastor teaches him how to relish in the lack of power.
In other words, Alastor is a rich and powerful Overlord who takes the exhausted bartender on into a world of power dynamics - providing him with structure, demands and a sense of relief.
Vox is keen, almost too keen.
