Summary
When Arthur is born, Ygraine dies and Uther vows vengeance against all magic.
When Arthur is four, Nimueh decides to take matters into her own hands and casts an enchantment on the prince as penance for his father. One which can only be removed by a magic user willing to undo the enchantment for the sake of helping Arthur, and no other reason.
When Arthur is seven, the truth of the spell's nature comes to light.
When Arthur is fifteen, the rumours of the worsening enchantment spread among the kingdoms until news it has been removed take their place and his father tells Arthur he must never let anyone know the truth of the matter.
When Arthur is twenty, he lives with the firm belief the enchantment will never be lifted.
When Arthur is twenty, a boy named Merlin arrives in Camelot and, by a streak of luck, becomes the enchanted prince's manservant...

Merlin owed his life - literally - to Lancelot. Lancelot, who had overheard Arthur scream that there was a sorcerer in their midst. Lancelot, who had thrown a number of his most prized possessions into a satchel, ran down to Gaius’s room, told Merlin to pack what he needed, and prepared two horses. Lancelot, who was guiding his horse through the forest next to Merlin, riding in silence under the midnight moon.
AKA Merlin and Lancelot go on the run. Cue very shittily written grief and Lancelot backstory because I'm sick

Just as quickly as it entered the suspicious look on his face was fleeing away and his features were smoothing out into an all-knowing look Gwaine had gotten very accustomed to seeing over the years except now it was too flat, too trusting, too young. "Oh, I see what this is." Gwaine was glad someone did because he had no clue what was going on. "Will put you up to this didn't he"
i.e Merlin getting de aged to his teenage years before he came to Camelot.

“Merlin.” Leon’s always steady voice sounds devastated, and it takes Merlin by surprise. The sheer depth of concern in it is the complete opposite of the reaction he was expecting and he finds he has to look away for a moment to collect himself. “I won’t tell a soul,” Leon continues, despite the fact Merlin can’t even meet his eyes. Sincerity bleeds into his words, the raw emotion from a moment ago seemingly in check, though when Merlin forces himself to look at Leon again, worry is etched clearly on his face. “Nobody is going to make you leave Camelot. I’m just so very sorry you’ve been carrying this alone for so long.”

Summary
Merlin froze. The ceiling was unfamiliar. He sat up quickly and stared in horror as the room he was in wasn’t anywhere he recognised. Where was he? What had happened last night?
He moved quietly around the room, trying to look for clues. For some strange reason, his body refused to cooperate. Muscles he never acknowledged in his legs complained of strains and his wrist was particularly sore. Everything felt off.
All the more reason for Merlin to figure things out. He pushed past the pain, certain his magic would deal with the aches before breakfast. He looked under the bed and in the wardrobe but they were both dead ends.
Finally, he turned to the small looking-glass that stood by the fireplace. The presence of it was odd enough and Merlin wasn’t expecting any break-through as his eyes flicked past but the image made him still.
That wasn’t his face staring back at him.
Or Merlin awakes but he's not in his body? And what has happened to Mordred? How will they fix this before Arthur finds out?
