Etho knows TNT. He is more familiar with the sound of an explosion than he is with his own face! Well, I guess he wears a mask all of the time, but still! TNT is a constant. But the thing about constants that involve explosions is that they are eventually going to be unpredictable to a degree that means you get blown up. Etho wished that respawn was all that the blast would have given him; and he wished that it wouldn’t have taken anything at all.

Sometimes he thought back to how this all started, letting himself get caught up in that cliché of the way it came to pass – slowly at first and then all at once. There was that one show, small glances shared between them all. Then the bar afterwards, that shared sense that they were talking to the friends who had come to watch because they were forced to – when really they all wanted to be somewhere together, talking about whatever it was that had suddenly changed between them. After that, they’d spent the next two days together, holed up in Tom’s tiny London flat as if the rest of the world didn’t exist.

Luke looked up at him over his glasses without moving his head and smiled. “Uh huh?”
Sam smiled back. He turned his whole body, then, moving along the wall to pull into Luke’s space and stay there. “I’m bored,” he said again, taking a moment to look pointedly at Luke’s lips.
Luke just laughed. He put his phone away and leaned one shoulder against the wall beside Sam, crossing his arms and facing him with a smirk. “We’re playing this again, are we?”
