Summary
Dean and Sam come from a long line of kabbalists — folk magicians with the knowledge to control both angels and demons, and coerce them into using their power for human purposes. But now the angel Castiel has come down from the heavenly realms, created a new body for himself, and asked Dean to accompany him on his other-worldly mission. Naturally Dean agrees to help, but as they travel together, both human and angel must navigate their forbidden attraction to each other.

Summary
This is the first of a series of essays I wish to write on the Gender Politics of Sherlock fandom. There are many things I wanted to say at the official panel but was unable to, since it was derailed by a group of individuals who showed up with the intention of intimidating and harassing the panel moderator. In future essays, I’d like to share my thoughts on femslash, Mary Sues and the fridging of female characters, on heteronormativity in slash, and on queer representation beyond slash (bisexual, pansexual, asexual and trans people in fanworks and fan spaces). I’d like to touch on race and being a queer Woman of Color in a fandom mostly interested in White male characters.
Before I get to those subjects, however, I feel a need to return to the original intended topic: the essay I began writing on my phone on the plane.
And that essay is on the subject of noncon fanworks.

At Manticore, the X5s are dropping at a rate of one to two a day. Renfro chooses 494 and 511 infiltrate the lab at another transgenic breeding site in Kezmekhistan and steal the life-saving antidote. Their contact is the double agent Lola.
It's 494's first mission.
No, first thing we ever did together was the Volkovitch job, over in Kezmekistan or wherever... Oh, yeah, that's right. Ooh, the off-hours were definitely the highlight of that mission... Lola.
