Tras volver de Volterra y salvar a Edward nada fue lo mismo. Bella tenía muchas cosas en las que pensar, ahora que los Volturi sabían de su existencia, tendría que cumplir y convertirse en una de ellos en el plazo de un año, si no quería morir. La elección era bastante clara, lo que no tenía tan claro era su papel en la familia Cullen. No quería volver a perder a su familia, pero no estaba tan segura de si podía volver a tener una relación con Edward. ¿sería capaz de perdonar y hacer como si nada? ¿Podría olvidar todo el sufrimiento y dejar de sentir esa sensación de vacío? Y lo más importante ¿podría volver a confiar en él, en ellos? Mientras estaba en el avión de regreso a Forks con Alice y Edward, no podía dejar de pensar en todo esto, tenía la sensación de que todos daban por sentado de que todo sería como antes de que ocurriera el incidente de su cumpleaños.
