Therefore; he goes on, pain surging through his being with each day and task. Hiding the grief in fear of others going for the peak. Truthless wouldn't wish for such thing, that place And its truth was his life's work. His burden to which he can't carry anymore.
Each day now he climbs up to the peak, a new bitter task he took onto his shoulders, not daring to get inside. The sight of the house cuts deeps as it is, staying out to keep the garden clean is enough. It truly is. Even if his cleaning it from the flowers he brings mostly. The garden is not as lovely as it was without Truthless watering it in the mornings. If only sage can have mornings off to do so.
Perhaps the cherry tomatoes will be sweeter when they ripened, with love turning to sugar. Sadly he only got salt in his eyes and throat. Shamefully so. He can't love the place like vanilla did.
It been months on months since Truthless left the scholar, and even less then that since his soul jam's light of deceit lost the last of its warmth. Suggesting a fate sage feared. Yet grief isn't in his heart, nor is happiness that Truthless is back with a little one.

Summary
The Fount looked at the squalling gnat in His embrace. Now that it was clean of jam & vernix, its natural sweet scent grew intense, a sure sign of its health. To a normal parent, a birth this smooth, & a lack of injuries to the Cookies giving birth & being birthed, would be nothing short of a divine blessing, or at the very least, a massive relief. Revulsion coiled in His gut instead; the sickeningly sweet grub seemed to corrode the dough where He held it.
Or, alternatively, a Father’s Day fic about the Fount of Knowledge being a…questionable parent.
