The effect Hal had on David truly should be studied. Just the faintest brush of his fingers on his leg, and David was ready to start whining and keening for more.
Hal wasn’t even an alpha. He was a beta — or as David liked to call them, lucky. He didn’t deal with heats or ruts, didn’t have the cycling drive to mate or breed or whatever else. Yet he still took care of David better than anyone else had before. He made him feel better than anyone else ever had before.
