Summary
A roar echoes from above them and Dream startles so badly he nearly falls off of Spirit, grabbing their mane and trying to force them even faster. The sound of wingbeats thunders behind them, so loud it's as though a storm is approaching them both, despite how clear and dry the night air is.
"Come on, come on," Dream whispers, trying desperately to make it to the trees, to get to the beach, to somehow get away from here, praying that he and Punz can make it beneath the tree cover before-
The ground shakes as a dragon slams down onto it, wings still extended to break his fall as Sapnap lands in front of them both, eyes blazing with fury and smoke leaking from the corners of his mouth. Immediately the horses balk, whinnying and rearing with fright at the sight of a massive predator before them, skidding to a halt no matter how much Dream and Punz grasp at their manes and sides.
"Dream!" Sapnap's eyes immediately soften the moment he spots him, and in an instant he's bounding across the salt flats to his side, skidding to a halt with wide, relieved eyes. "You're alright!"

Summary
Up until tonight, George thought the worst thing he could experience was being 6,300 miles away, across an ocean, from his best friends.
It just hadn't hit him yet, he hadn't processed what this would mean, what it would actually feel like to be left behind again, especially with the distance gap being 22 thousand times larger than it was before. He's been so busy the last few weeks that his brain hadn't caught up to him yet.
Even when Dream and Sapnap entered a quarantine with their other two crew members, Bad and Sam, it didn't hit him. They were just in a specially enclosed living space, in a part of the command center that George saw every day. It just felt like they were living in a hotel, and he could visit whenever he wanted.
That's not going to be an option after tomorrow morning, and it won't be an option again for the next three months. This is the last chance George has to see and talk to his best friends before they'll be 140 million miles away, on another planet.

Summary
The modified DC-10-10 is fully capable of flying with three engines disconnected, but the plane is already starting to bank to the left, which means they need to stabilize the aircraft before they can contact the control tower again. Which is easy enough. Annoying, but easy.
Except.
The plane doesn't respond.
Techno stares at the control column in his hands for a few moments, before pressing harder, trying to force the plane to react to their commands but getting nowhere, and when he watches Dream do the same, he turns to his friend, a sinking, horrible feeling growing in his gut at the sight of his confusion and mounting panic reflected in Dream's green eyes.
This plane is rocketing through the sky, 35,000 feet in the air, and they have no way to control it.

The water flips him over and cracks his head into the side of the riverbank, sending a scattering of stars across his vision followed by that odd green flash again, and Sapnap feels his body go limp with pain, no matter how much he tries to force it to move.
He's going to die down here in the freezing darkness surrounded by nothing but water and cold and-
Something grabs his leg.Something that is not the water around him grabs his leg, then squeezes it tightly.
Sapnap looks down, and screams.

It's perfect here.
Well.
It's mostly perfect here, because there is currently one extremely pressing issue that neither Techno nor Dream have addressed so far.
That issue being Dream's destroyed wings.
He hasn't seen them since the escape a few days ago, bundled into the warm softness of this nest, and, if Dream could get his way, he'd never want to see them ever again, never want to see what's been done to them, what he did to them.

The point is, Phil was busy. And Ranboo thought this to be his chance to prove himself to the two. Prove his worth. That he can be of use. Can defend them and himself if necessary. He totally wasn't worried that a rogue surviving bandit followed them home or anything! That's just stupid!
So, now here they are, Techno's axe resting against their thigh, staring at the front door with intense eyes. Lazor-focused, if you will.
Nothing's getting past that door.
Unless they want an axe in their throat.
