The four members of 25ji didn't fit the criteria for being "conventional friends." In a way, they were all fiercely independent and stubborn, to the point that Ena couldn't have imagined everyone growing closer.
But, slowly but surely, it had become a reality. Bound by the music they produced and long nights spent on Nightcord together, they had found a strange sense of peace, weaving the beginnings of friendship and falling into each other's rhythms. Even with their initial reluctance, they slowly began opening up and unraveling their true selves to one another, learning to lay themselves bare and be vulnerable even if it was scary.
Or at least they tried to. But Mizuki Akiyama never liked being vulnerable. They would much rather run away and disappear for good before laying themselves out so painfully to the world.
Alternatively: Mizuki disappears without a trace. But Ena won't give up on her.

As soon as the tingles started, Mizuki could tell something was off. The holographic UI flickered red, before turning off, as the black screen flashed. "Wh... what's happening..!?" She asked as she looked up at the inventor. His face was pale, concern written accross his face. "I... I don't know..." He said breathlessly. Mizuki felt her form contracting, her body pushing in on itself, as if she were in far too small a room. Her face felt weird. Everything felt weird. Her vision started to blur around the edges as she fell forwards.

As a part of a science project, Rui has created a new invention, one that is capable of splitting people in two versions of themselves. For their initial proof, Mizuki had been the test subject, she trusted Rui more than anyone else and knew she'd be fine, and it just so happens that Ena was arriving a bit too early to school that day in hopes of catching Mizuki. Unfortunately, the machine had a small problem and now Ena has to deal with two Mizuki's for an entire week.
