“You’re infected.” His guard went back up, pointing his crossbow with narrow eyes. “You’re eating raw meat. Either infected, or incredibly stupid.”
“Really, Sherlock? Who could’ve guessed.” The creature replied, turquoise eyes flashing with an ounce of amusement for a moment. It had managed to cut through a part of the rope, and was attempting to squirm out of the contraption.
“You’re infected. You can still talk. You've got a full head of hair and… some degree of conscience left.” Keigo didn’t lower the weapon. The air between them felt thin, like the moment before lightning hit. “What are you?”
“Hungry.”

Keigo tried to steal his expression and resist the urge to ask if everything was okay in there. Luckily he didn’t have to wait more than a few moments before the door was thrown open and the prince was leaning out.
“Sir Keigo,” the prince called, eyes meeting the golden gems already transfixed on his own.
“Prince Touya,” he dipped his head in a slight bow as the prince stepped out wearing a thick winter cloak.
“Gather supplies for a hunting trip and meet me at the stables,” he ordered, voice clipped. Keigo stared at him blankly. Touya huffed. “Now, if you would?”
