And then Trinity Santos was laying on top of her. Well, not completely. She’d more just thrown her arm and leg over Mel’s body with about all the grace of a gangly labrador. Mel took a deep breath, and something about the pressure from Santos’ body made it feel like she was sinking into the bed. In a good way.
“This kinda works, actually.”
“Good. Perfect. I’m a human squeeze toy and a human weighted blanket.”
“A squeeze toy?”
Santos let out a weary sigh and adjusted her head on the pillow. “Forget it. Sleep please.”

After karaoke night, Mel goes home with Santos and they end up in bed together. Platonically. They continue hanging out over and over until they resemble something like friends.
