Summary
Everyone now knows there is evil afoot and war waiting on the horizon, but the identity of their enemy is still a mystery. If that was not enough for riders Atem and Yugi to worry about, they also find themselves navigating royal life and events along with their Guard duties. And on top of all of that, they have growing young dragons to care for, and their own fledgling bond to nurture along with them.
Yugi and Atem find themselves working to solve the many mysteries that seem to be popping up around them at every turn. Who is attacking their kingdom? Why? What does any of this have to do with prophecies and things that happened over a thousand years ago? And just how did two chosen riders end up bonded to each other?
They don't know yet. But they'll do anything to figure it all out while fighting a war that threatens everything they love.

It called to him.
Like a howl on the wind, it sang to him in the rustle of leaves. It enticed him through the sharp prick of pine scent he breathed. And then beckoning to him with the feeling of dirt shifting under his bare feet rather than laid cobblestone under shoes.
Everyone said to stay away from the Umberwood.
And yet he found his feet taking him there in dreams and in waking hours of late.Eventually with or against his will, Yugi ends up being pulled into the forest he'd avoided his entire life. There he is taught much more about the magic of the Umberwood, the Feralfolk, himself than he ever could have thought there was to learn.
But will everything he learns be enough to save them all? Only time will tell.

Summary
One and a half years after the Ceremonial Duel, Yugi leads a normal life. A normal life, were it not for the fact that Yugi had no memories of most of his high school years. Now a gifted student of Egyptology due to his remarkable knowledge gained from his connection to the ancient past, he’s offered the chance to visit the Valley of the Kings as part of his curriculum.
On his visit, Yugi accidentally discovers a hidden room in a recently unsealed tomb. The mummy inside the sarcophagus yields a strange pendant, which Yugi is made to touch by these strangers who claim to know him. The next thing he knows, he is displaced and finds himself in the middle of a desert.This is Yugi’s start to reclaiming his memories, his identity and rediscovering a love so deeply connected to his soul it defies comprehension.
Or: In which Atem's parting triggers Yugi's memory loss, a trauma response to protect his heart and mind from the loss of half of his soul. Luckily, Atem will always find his aibou when he needs him most.
