Summary
500 years is a long time to spend pretending to be human, and though after all these centuries Wels has got it down to an art, he's also hyperaware of how easily things can start to crumble. It's why he's spent so long carefully holding himself away from getting to close to people, and it's also why - after 500 years of successfully keeping his mouth shut - he ends up telling five people he's an angel in less than a decade. Blasted friendship.
An exploration of four times where Wels' cover story snapped, fell through, or otherwise faltered, and one time it never would've worked to begin with.

Summary
Dr. Blaze, like all good supervillains, has a nemesis. One that he hates, of course. The Canary is always meddling in his plans to be evil after all! Supervillains don't like their nemeses. Except, for some reason, no one believes him that he despies the guy! Sure the Canary takes him seriously when no one else does and laughs at his jokes and has these bright brown eyes that light up when he figures out how to escape Tango's traps and... and Tango might, just maybe, like the Canary more than he thought.

“Not on your life.” The words tumble out before he can stop them. Parker lays a hand on Arthur’s bony shoulder, lightly at first, then squeezing more firmly when Arthur does not pull away. “Maybe I like having you around, English.”
Arthur is silent, not meeting Parker’s gaze. He swirls a hand around in the water, eyes fixed on the ripples. The bathroom light flickers, but Arthur doesn’t seem to notice.
“I like talking to you,” Parker continues. “I like when we’re talking about a case and something goes electric in your eyes, like you’re coming alive. I like when you drop random bits of information into the conversation like it’s the most natural thing ever. I like walking into Jack’s and seeing you in your usual spot.” Parker strokes a thumb over Arthur’s collarbone. “You lose people in this line of work, Art. I don’t want to lose you.”
