they're both frustrated after a meeting

“Cullen, I wanted-.” Cullen froze. He hadn’t locked the door.

Lavellan stood in the doorway, still holding the doorknob, mouth agape as she slowly dragged her gaze up and down the man before her. Cullen was panting, an apology forming on his lips but he made no move to cover himself, made no move to release his cock from his ever tightening grip. He was afraid the sight of her alone would bring him to orgasm, blush spreading fast up her face as she stared at him.

“Well, don’t stop on my account.” She said and Cullen moaned, a smirk breaking the shocked expression on her face. His eyes screwed tightly shut as he heard the door shut, heard the click of the lock. He continued to pump his fist, slowly.

“Leather. And Plum.” His words kissed between her shoulder blades. She threw her head back while he tasted her, first the ridges of her spine, then the pattern of scars twisting over it. His touch halted at her hips.

Phyrra jerked her head over her shoulder. “What– don’t stop.”

Spite’s lip was pressed to the darkest patch of scarring, one that tore the neck of her dragon tattoo clean in half. It was an ugly reminder of an early skirmish in the Crossroads. Venatori? Antaam? She couldn’t quite remember. Ink was smudged over the memory, the only clear image the bright sky and blood staining her gloves. She hadn’t realised it was her own before stumbling into someone’s arms.

The point of his gaze softened slightly. “Rook.”

She could see the words curling on his tongue, ones he couldn’t say, ones he perhaps didn’t have the language to say. Another night she’d let him try. Tonight, it was the last thing she needed.

    “I have been offered atonement.”
“What good does forgiveness do a dead man?”
“Then I shall not beg yours,” Gale spits.
Silence bleeds between them. The tenuous thread of hope that has kept Ara looking forward slips from her grasp. She might live to see the day the malign darkness lifts from these lands, but he will not.
Her strained voice finally cracks. “Is this the memory you wish to leave me with?”
He falters, lips parting, though the tension never leaves his brow.
They stare at each other, dark gazes fixed, oblivious to how the magic changes around them, the only evidence a glint of light in Gale’s eyes.
“How would you rather remember?” He moves a step nearer. She can feel the power emanating from him, tendrils of it encircling her, connecting her to him. All she needs to do is recollect.
From the first touch when she pulled him free from the sigil, when she almost wondered whether she shouldn't put him back.

    Summary

Amara is out of balance. The universe craves balance out of every insignificant soul who lives in it and has a keen sense for whenever one who thinks themself particularly clever eludes a fate they should have succumbed to. The more a soul struggles, the more creative the universe becomes. Especially when "the universe" happens to be a vengeful deitous entity.

Amara now realizes this fact should have been disclosed in some semblance of a footnote when she first learned the art of Chronomancy.

The moment she realizes the universe has struck again, this time saddling her with a strange voice, a dangerous parasite, and the knowledge of her participation in what is more of an epidemic than a singular punishment, Amara must fight her immediate urge to simply rewind. This time, she has to admit the prophetic deity intent on claiming her life has finally gotten creative enough.

If she wants to limit the damage these parasites can do to in the future, she will have to guard her life, her intentions, and — from one of her companions — even her heart.

    Summary

“Uh -” Evie could feel herself starting to sweat a bit. A combination of fear and pressing up against a man who could explode and rip them to pieces at any moment. “How soon do you need to consume something?”

Gale closed his eyes and leaned against the wall. “It’s hard to be an expert on something like this but my conservative estimate would be as soon as possible.”

    “How soon is ‘soon’?”

Now, probably wouldn’t be too ambitious.”
