    Shane and Ilya are champions. They are partners, and they’re in it for life. And people are starting to notice.

    After being traumatically outed two years ago, Shane and Ilya's relationship and their lives have been fundamentally changed, and most days, Shane thinks that's a good thing. But sometimes, the pressure of being out, and the endless online speculation about #hollanov, and rumors running rampant through the NHL, and a new generation of rookies looking up to them, and the knowledge that everyone is relying on Shane Hollander to be perfect at all times—sometimes it's a lot.

    But Shane's dealing with it. Ilya seems happier than he's ever been, and Shane just needs to get his act together to support his husband. He can do that. He needs to, and he will, if he doesn't crack under the pressure first.

    They've got a second Stanley Cup to win, after all.

    In room 1410, Ilya Rozanov is ready to walk out the door after successfully getting his 19 year old hockey rival into bed. He knew how to make this moment happen and he knows what they have to be to each other now that it's over. But as he turns the doorknob to leave, he's stopped with questions he never expected. And giving Shane Hollander what he needs in that moment will change everything.

    I note which chapters are SFW vs NFSW, because many of you said knowing meant the difference between reading this on your lunch break or having to wait. (Thank you for wanting to read my work that much.)

    Covers the first two years of their rookie seasons (which is mostly skipped over in the show/books). Canon divergent from the first hookup seen in HR s01ep01. Most things are from the show but the timeline is a mix of both; Hunter and Marleau are aged up per the show instead of as young as they are in the books. (Also, Shane and Ilya don't wait *two years*, they stick to the book timeline. IYKYK.)

    It was one time.

    Statistically, condoms had a 98% success rate when used properly. That meant that the condom packet had to have been perfectly sealed, the latex itself had to have no tears or degradation in the material, and it had to be worn as directed.

    So why?

    Why did it feel like the universe was saying fuck you in big bold letters and giving him double birds at the same time?

    So why did the blue lines and the pregnant on the two tests sound so fucking fake?

    Or: Where Shane finds out he's pregnant after their first time together in 2013 despite wearing protection, because the universe loves to fuck with him.

    Shane hefts the Stanley Cup over his head for a second time, a numb joy settling over him.

    The partners and families of the Voyageurs flood down to the ice in a rush. His parents have come down, visibly proud.

    And yet this year, it somehow feels a little worse, because Ilya wasn't next to them, cheering in a HOLLANDER jersey.

    After coming out as friends and revealing the figure skating rivalry in their families, Shane and Ilya must face the challenges of the coming years, while Yuuri and Yuri face dilemmas of their own...

    In which I ask the question: What if Shane and Ilya went to the Quebec Nordiques?

    A direct sequel to brátishka, featuring social media, texting, emails, and a whole lot of canon divergence.
