Summary
The cold hits them the moment the restaurant door swings shut. One second, Trinity is laughing, her breath warm in her chest, growing into a bubble of happiness she's keeping unexamined. The next, winter is clawing its way under her coat and down through the gap where her scarf isn't tucked in properly. The sidewalk is a patchwork of yellowing snow, blackened slush, and slick, glassy stretches where the city never quite got enough salt down.
Yolanda shifts automatically closer, like their bodies are homing beacons to each other. Her arm brushes Trinity's as they walk, a cautious nudge every couple of steps. "I told you to wear a thicker coat," she says when she catches the way Trinity immediately shudders against a gust of cold air.

Summary
Garcia turns back around, hands full with several different items. She places them one by one on the bed next to Trinity.
A pair of leather handcuffs, a small paddle, a harness, and last, a dildo, just on the side of too big.
Trinity stares at the items, then glances back up at Garcia. Waiting.
Garcia meets her eyes, “Color?”
This is the most negotiation she’ll get.
If she says yellow, they’ll discuss. Maybe Garcia will put something back.
If she says red, they’ll all go back in the drawer.
She’ll be sent home.
“Green,” Trinity murmurs.
Garcia smirks, “Good,” she grabs the handcuffs, “Lay back.”

Summary
She finds that sleeping with Garcia has done nothing to satiate the hunger— in fact, it has only intensified it. As Santos stares into the washed-out paint of the ceiling of her room, she mulls over the silence of these past weeks and curses her for rousing this itch, only to never scratch it again.

Summary
Santos, she’s noticed, has been pacing around the table all night, hovering over people’s shoulders and joining their conversations, prompting laughter from each person she interacts with, but she hasn’t once walked in her direction, let alone spoken to her.
She looks down at her glass before she has the chance of meeting her eyes, and swirls the liquid in it around to, at least, seem distracted.
