    “You could, but I’d like to help. After everything, I think you deserve the care,” Mandy hummed and pressed Courtney against her tighter, paying mind not to brush her hand over the shoulder wound.

    “That sounds so corny,” Courtney muttered, but made no move to push Mandy away, letting herself be guided to their plush couch.

    “Probably, humor me though? While I take care of you at least,” She helped Courtney settle first, then made her way out of the room.

    Mandy said it so easily, it made Courtney uneasy as she watched the other woman move towards their washroom to grab any supplies she needed for rewrapping and disinfecting the wound.

    Unattended, the urge to bolt out the door bit at her thoughts.
