For centuries, sailors have used the stars to guide their way. Percy may not be a sailor in the traditional sense, but he is as close as possible being the son of a sea God, and at the moment he may as well be lost as sea. So whilst he may not use the traditional constellations, such as Ursa Minor, to guide his journey. He still relies on the stars, like many sailors, for guidance late at night, lost at sea.

When Arthur asked him if he was available to deal with a rogue monster, Percy didn't think much of it. He started to regret it when he heard that it was in Gotham of all places, but a promise was a promise, and he always had a hero complex.
Cue several reckless decisions later, and now he had a whole family of cosplayers trying to work out the puzzle that is Percy Jackson. Good luck to them.
