When Thanos attacked, Peter thought that dying would be the worst thing that happened to him.
Feeling every cell in his body crumble away was a pain sometimes replicated in his worst nightmares. Even worse was the memory of the others fading away with him and the fact that he, once again, let everyone down.
Maybe in a universe far from his own, he wouldn’t make the same mistake.

Summary
A silhouette appeared at the end of the alley, thin and walking with an almost limp, or maybe just swaying. The man appeared to be giggling to himself, reaching up and touching his lips. As he got closer, Peter realized there seemed to be blood on his hands. He was wearing a stained and ripped purple suit, with garish clown makeup making him look a ghastly white. His yellow teeth were stained with blood, reflecting off the dim light as stumbled down the alleyway. He was getting closer, and Peter made a split second decision.

“If you don’t start talking in the next five seconds, I’m going to hang up,” Andrew said, ignoring the disapproving look Renee was no doubt shooting him from her desk.
“Sorry, yeah– sorry, I just haven’t done this in a while.”
“Had a phone call?” Andrew asked, raising an eyebrow, even though the person on the other end– a man, from the timber of his voice– couldn’t see him.
The man on the other end laughed lightly, and the sound did something funny to Andrew’s stomach. He mentally kicked himself, glaring daggers into his computer. Now was definitely not the time to have big gay feelings for some guy, especially if that guy had information about a missing persons case.
“You’re investigating Nina Davis, yeah?” The man asked, and Andrew kind of wanted to strangle the guy just a little.
“I said that already, or are you deaf?”
“Maybe in one ear. But uh– I have information. On Nina.”
OR: Andrew is a detective who sort of hates his job, Renee is a saint of a work partner, Neil can't keep himself out of trouble for five seconds, there's definitely a city-wide conspiracy that no one is telling Andrew anything about, and Baltimore might burn down before he can get to the bottom of it.
