Summary
After Pitfall, Raleigh walked out of the shatterdome without so much as a goodbye. Shortly after, though, he started sending letters to Chuck. Nothing too flowery or soul-searchy. Just... letters. Chuck, who's not used to getting mail, isn't quite sure what to make of them.
After eleven months, though, he's pretty sure he likes them.

Summary
Raleigh pinched Chuck’s ear. “Stop that,” he said. “Brat.”
“Aren’t you meant to be tough, mate?” Chuck grinned. “I thought you lived in Alaska.”
“I thought you were slightly older than twelve, but apparently we were both wrong.”

Summary
In any case, Chuck needed to get away, and fast, otherwise this joyful occasion would end with an unfortunate homicide. Nothing spoiled a wedding like disembowelment.
Unluckily, Chuck was fairly sure that spending time with any of the disgustingly cheerful guests would both ruin their mood and inflame his; if he had to hear Great-Aunt Olivia titter effervescently one more time he’d bloody well shove a kebab stick straight into his eye socket.
And so, he reached his last resort - the one person who seemed to hate attending this wedding even more than he did.

Summary
Raleigh laughed softly.
‘What?’
‘Just…Your mood improves a lot when you have a puppy in your arms, doesn’t it?’
At this, Chuck merely shrugged, probably proving the truth of that statement.
‘What can I say, I have a soft spot for the tiny bastards.’
