Levi goes into heat at the worst time possible—outside the Walls. How desperate will he be when Erwin gets him home?

“Please, please… Please… A-Alpha,” he whispers the last part, seeking refuge in the strong and steady beat in Erwin’s left chest.Erwin’s lips fall to the rigid scar on his nape, kissing hot and open-mouthed with a pinch of his teeth, a gentle warning that if he doesn’t stop, he’ll be forced to put him in a scuff hold.
He gives up immediately, denying his body and instincts. Tears instantly fill his shut eyes.
“You’ll go with Hange, and stay with those I trust to keep you safe,” Erwin directs, his voice a low scrape from his chest. He scents his throat as he explains this. “I need you to endure this a little longer. Will you do that for me?”
He grinds his jaw until it aches. For Erwin, he finds it in himself to drunkenly nod.

Summary
In the middle of an expedition beyond the walls, Levi enters the most intense heat of his life. There are no warning signs, and he's been on suppressants for years. Now he's at risk of death if he's left to his own devices, caught defenseless against his feverish delirium. He's not well enough to be moved, but he's also far too sick to be alone.

Summary
It’s strange for him to consider that fate or the universe–whatever is driving this compulsion, really–needs Levi here for some reason or another, but he’s passed by these woods at least a thousand times before on his way into town, and each time his eyes drifted toward the trees, his heart would give a restless tug against his ribs like an excited dog on a leash. Eventually, the call became too much for him to ignore, and so here he is, surrendering himself to the woods and praying like hell that he doesn’t end up in the belly of a beast by daylight.
