During a mission away from Gotham, Batman and Red Robin anger a group of traffickers, who manage to catch the two vigilantes off guard, leading to their capture. The traffickers need informations from Batman and have heard about his biggest weakness, his birds.
This is a story about the aftermath, how old and new traumas mix with one another. Bruce wants to help Tim heal from his assault, but has no idea how to do it.

During a mission, Red Robin is assaulted as a method of breaking Batman down. In the aftermath, both Bruce and Tim cope in the way they know best: distraction and avoidance. It’s Bruce, surprisingly, who realizes that something has to give and takes the first step in mending a relationship that has had cracks for far longer than he had realized.
Such a good exploration of post-Red Robin Tim and Bruce and their interactions with each other. Mind the tags/subject matter, but I think the scenes between Bruce and Tim are very well written and worth a read if one’s up for it.

Freddy is used to being pinned against lockers.
He’s used to the clang of his skull on metal, the way his legs buckle. He’s used to the crushing pressure on his chest or his neck, making his lungs stutter and gasp for air. He’s used to the humiliation and the gleam in his torturer’s eyes as they kick his crutch down the hallway.
He’s used to their talk, their degradation, their insults. He reminds himself that none of it phases him anymore. This time is no different, he thinks.
And he doesn’t believe that at all.

A fic I distinctly remember reading almost immediately after watching Shazam in theaters. I love the “extended scene” nature of the fic and I think it slots in perfectly with the original movie.

When a news article mistakes Captain Marvel for Captain Marvel Junior’s and Mary Marvel’s dad, the trio decides to let it ride. After all, letting everyone believe that the adult Captain Marvel is legally responsible for the two teen heroes is much better than the alternative of admitting that they’re all teen heroes and have independently been so the whole time. Billy thinks that his assumed dad-status will be the only change to how Captain Marvel is viewed among his Justice League colleagues. Unfortunately for him, some unanticipated questions (and Freddy’s inability to shut his mouth) lead to more complications than initially expected.
So so funny. I love how the lies start spiraling out of control almost instantly and yet at no point do Billy, Mary, or Freddy try to come clean. It’s literal perfection and definitely worth the read

Tim’s idol and hero (after Batman and Robin, of course) is attending Gotham Comic Con as a guest panelist. Unfortunately, the panel requires all children under 18 to be accompanied by an adult. This would be a problem for a supervisionless child like himself… if he didn’t have a secret he could use to force the Waynes to act as his chaperone for the trip, that is. But he does, so it isn’t. Whoever said blackmailing is hard?
I genuinely cackled at the reveal of “Hello! I am blackmailing you! A presentation by Tim Drake.” This fic is my perfect type of humor and was just a really fun read. Alfred being the one to bring Tim into the fold is underrated too

Tim Drake is five years old and cradling a broken arm when his mom reveals to him a secret; he has a metahuman ability which allows him to rapidly heal, just like her. In order to keep this power hidden, she insists it’s imperative that he hides his injuries and any pain associated with them. After years of lessons, it becomes second nature for Tim to brave stab wounds and torn ligaments without flinching. This, he thinks, makes him the perfect candidate to become the Robin Batman so desperately needs. After all, who would worry about a kid who can survive almost anything?
I am such a sucker for stories where characters have absurd supernatural/superhuman healing factor and use it under the simultaneous logical and self-sacrificing belief “better me than someone else.” This fic also puts a fun and unique twist on it wherein Tim’s horrifying healing ability isn’t a secret from the Batfam, but other aspects surrounding it are. It’s so so good and also the way that Cass and Tim are written as parallels to each other is such a highlight, even if that isn’t the main focus of the fic.

Vigilanteism is a dangerous field with the expectation that one would be injured at some point in their career. Hell, it’s happened to Tim multiple times (thanks Jason). It figures, then, that he doesn’t break his shoulder doing something amazing like saving civilians or battling a rogue. Instead it comes from the stupidest source possible: slipping in the shower. It also figures that his one, true civilian injury in years is what pings as off for one Jason Todd.
Love this fic!! I love how snarky Tim is and the back and forth he and Jason have in this

After the death of his parents, sixteen year old Tim Drake is learning how to juggle his responsibilities as the new, official CEO of Drake Industries with his old, unofficial vigilanteism as an information source for Gordon and the Bats. He’s also doing his best to shove down processing any of his emotions related to the late Jack and Janet Drake while also distancing himself from the Waynes, who seem to have taken a renewed interest in him. When his day and nightlife collide in the form of a targeted attack by Black Mask, Tim finds himself unable to avoid the problems he’s been suppressing for months.
Very solid “Tim Joins the Batfam Late” fic! I think the pacing was well-executed and the inevitable identity reveal scene did make me smile with Tim’s reaction to it all.
