Summary
Between the two of them: they haven't ever fought like this. It had always been one trying to rend the other into submission, but tonight something was different: Grimmjow was in his house, and he was more red than blue. It's too dark outside and Ichigo doesn't think anything can go back to the way it was before. But maybe that's for the better; because in this battle to keep Grimmjow breathing, he finds a strange contentment like none other. Maybe he's sick and wrong, or maybe, nights like these belong to the hollows.

Summary
He runs closer, spotting a small figure lying under a tree. A silverwood tree that he knows wasn't there before. He would have noticed it, even if he only saw it at a glance while flying above. But he doesn't have time to think about it now, he needs to focus on the situation.
She was clearly a witch, her hand tightly curled around her pen in one hand, and a frozen bottle of ink her other. What looked to be the remains of a cloak was draped over, ripped to shreds and stained by blood and dirt beyond recognition of any colour or form. A soggy palm quire showed remains of attempts to cast fire spells, with the ink distorted from the water of the snow and paper ripped by pen. His breath caught in his throat at the sight, disturbed by the evidence of her struggle for warmth.
Or
How Olruggio found the ateliers newest, strangest member, who knows a little too much while seeming to have forgotten much of her past, and who keeps many secrets close to her chest.

Summary
Instincts are weird, especially when they come from a part of your soul you've only recently fully embraced.
Good thing Ichigo has Zangetsu to walk his dumb ass through it.

Summary
There's an owl. It's not a cat-owl or a badger-owl or even an owl-deer. It's an owl, it's huge, and it's not pleased to see them.
"Humans. What are you doing in my library?"
Zhao bows deeply to it. "Honoured spirit, I am a humble seeker of knowledge. I had heard of the wonders of your library and wished to see it for myself."
What follows is the most nauseating combination of flattery and lies Zuko has heard for a long time. Not that Zuko has the right to accuse an honourable Fire Nation citizen of lying. And he should want the spirit to believe Zhao. Right?
Right. Anyway. Something something knowledge for the sake of knowledge. Honoring the spirits that keep our sailors safe and bear us where we need to go.
"And your companion?" the owl asks. Wan Shi Tong, whose name literally means the guy who knows everything. And he can't hear what utter moosebullshit Zhao is spouting? Really?
"Him?" Zhao says. He pats Zuko's shoulder, and Zuko grits his teeth. "He's my assistant. A bit simple, but he can follow orders. I'll ensure he doesn't trouble you."
Or,
Zuko goes to the library. He ends up staying for three years.
