    Summary

Ever since Hao came to Korea a few years ago, Hanbin had become his best friend. Now, they're going to spend their last summer of High School together, alone at Hanbin's grandparents' old house. They end up in a tiny village, in the countryside of South Korea, where the unbearable heat burns almost as much as their untold feelings for each other.

This summer, their heartbeats loud in their ears, they're going to learn what they really mean to each other.
    _____

“Didn’t you like the freedom of school trips? The sights?” Hanbin asked.

“It didn’t really feel like freedom… I think… I think now is more like it. Maybe…”

Hao’s voice faded, quiet and shy in the darkness.

“Maybe you had to be here for me to truly feel free.”

The siren tilts their head to the side, regarding him with a strange, almost vulnerable expression in their shimmering eyes. Their hair shifts with the movement, spilling over their shoulder with impossible fluidity.

It breaks the laws of physics. It should be impossible.

This is magic. Something truly inhuman.

    Wen Chao laughs.

“Hanguang-jun, it seems I’ve captured your attention after all.”

Lan Wangji does not reply. Wen Chao has not captured his attention.

This being, this person who is so terrifyingly beautiful, with bare skin and long glossy hair, a flash of impossible black scales and red fins, chained up in a bed of pearls, has captured his attention.

“He’s pretty, isn’t he?” Wen Chao smirks, stepping closer to Lan Wangji, lowering his voice like he’s letting him in on a secret. “He’s even prettier when he cries.”

    Summary

Felix moved to Korea to study in university, because Australia is beautiful and he loves it, but spiders, and snakes, and if that’s not enough, all the bloody sea creatures out to off you the moment you step foot in the ocean.

To this day, he is still unsure whether moving was actually a good idea or not - his Korean was not the best, and he decided to study creative writing out of all possible majors (yes, stupid idea, moving on).
Although it’s much better now, there are days when he misses Australia with a force he didn’t realise was possible, and when he believes he made the stupidest mistake in the world moving to South Korea.

Days like today, when he is struggling to get the words out on the page and his brain decides to stop cooperating and remain stuck in his default English setting, seemingly forgetting every single word of Korean he has struggled so much to learn.
The point of it, though, is that he spoke barely any Korean at the start of university, and his bubbly, extremely Australian personality didn’t blend very well with the general Korean lifestyle. Or population. Which is to say, he failed miserably at making friends.

That was, until his roommate showed up.

He feels moisture once again gather in the corners of his eyes, and he has to avert his eyes.

So, he opts for a simple response. “You’re Chris.”

When Felix looks up, Bang Chan’s expression has turned thoughtful. “I see.”

When Chan loses his memories after an accident, Felix and the rest of Stray Kids are forced to re-examine their relationship with their leader.
