Summary
Dave Strider is a Peacekeeper of Skaia, with a long-guarded secret; in an underground room beneath his home, he hides a group of Alternian Demons, outcasted from their own home.
John Egbert is the first Fledgling that Dave has caught since his Solstice duty student fell four years ago, and when John, his sister, Jade Harley, and his friend, Rose Lalonde, fledge on the Summer Solstice, it will be Dave's duty once again.
But Dave is still scarred from the fall of his last student, so he elects to take Karkat, one of his demon refugees and his best friend, along with him.

Summary
Eridan Ampora can't take his own spiralling self-doubt coupled with the rejection of the girl that he loves, and his instability causes him to try something drastic.
When he meets Karkat and Jade, he doesn't even get their names, but he sure as hell recognises them when they're rushed in through his new job at the hospital.
Karkat blames himself of course. He always does, whenever anything happens to Jade it's always his fault and he can't stand the comfort of his friends. He can't sleep and he can't move, and when he breaks down crying at Jade's bedside in the early hours of the morning, he finds comfort in a silent water-bearer.
The cool drink calms him down. -

In an Offshoot Timeline, Jade does not succumb to The Condesce's mind control, but her powers glitch- transporting the Humans, Kanaya, Terezi and Karkat to an Alternate universe- one without Sburb, Alien races, and it seems... normal.
This is evidenced by the three Trolls mysteriously becoming human.With mysteriously-received money, the group must (re)adjust to Human life, enrolling in College courses and other 'normal' things.
They still can't escape the Nightmares that taunt them, a memory.

Summary
Marinette and Adrien are separated from their miraculouses and their kwamis. Paris can do without Ladybug and Chat Noir for an hour or two, right? Unfortunately, no. Cue an attack by an akumatized Parisian. Cluelessly thrown thrown together as civilians, Marinette and Adrien work with each other to save Paris as usual, only they don't know exactly how usual it is. Spending the day with Marinette makes Adrien notice things about her that he never realized before, and of course Marinette is thrilled to spend her day with Adrien, regardless of circumstance.

Summary
When a freak accident sends Marinette into critical condition, the only thing she can think about is Chat Noir. She wasn't going to make it and someone had to tell him. Otherwise, he'd never know what had happened to her--why his lady had never returned. And, as it just so happens, Adrien is there with her near the end, so she decides that he can take the message to Chat just as well as anyone.
