“Not sure how to ask Sleep that,” IV panted, fingers fumbling on the frame of the door. II seemed to relent, hand wrapping around his arm and pulling him into the house.
“Vessel is away,” he said plainly once the door had closed behind them. He guided IV upstairs, to the warmth of their bedroom. “At the beach.”
“What?” IV said, voice raising an octave. Not good. Not good at all. “But this is a fuck or die situation... Vessel said that once...and you don’t live near the beach.”

"There's someone behind him, it's been following him. Whoever it is, is always just far enough behind that he can't keep a good eye on them without fully turning around, but he knows they're tall. Certainly taller than him, and slender enough that they can slip through smaller gaps in the trees to weave around Vessel more efficiently.

Summary
IV has been what the media calls "big" his entire life. He's been made fun of, taunted, put down, you name it. He's tried for so long to shed his extra weight.
He's been with the band for a while now, has settled in well as both band-mate and roommate. Things are going great! He's happy for the others and their relationship. He's happy to be their supportive friend, knows he doesn't stand a chance. But maybe, if he can get himself in shape, they'd see something in him, too? Maybe if he takes things a little further, works out a little more and eats a little less, he'll have more success.
The others notice his changing habits and are more than a little concerned.

Vessel's fingers traced two small, distinct puncture wounds, his touch gentle, almost reverent. Before Ivy’s very eyes, they closed over, skin knitting together, leaving no trace but for the slight stain of the blood on his pale skin. He lifted his head and two fangs descended from that perfect line of white teeth.
Then, it stuck him. A moment of panic, of sheer, bone-cracking terror. His breath hitched, his brain struggling to process the monster who had opened his flesh and fed from his blood. He felt hot tears fill his eyes, yet his body was unable to move.
Vessel’s eyes softened as he took in Ivy’s trembling lips, reddened from his own teeth. “Oh, my pet, none of that,” he murmured, gently pulling Ivy’s lip away from his teeth. “Your turn is coming. And soon. I’m finding it increasingly difficult to let you out of my sight."

It’s the ritual, Three realises, when he glides the brush across Vessel’s chest. The fact they’re all partaking in it, a small offering to Sleep that works on the God’s special boy, gets Vess’s blood pumping and his frantic energy bouncing around the room.

“My name is Cass. I am not your vessel; I am not IV”
A cold wind blew, almost blowing out the candle from the strength. Thunderous rage simmered in the air, trying to plant fear in the outsiders -or rather IVs body’s- veins.
The intruder simply reacted with a small sigh, not annoyed or angry, just cognizant. Like it expected this harshness that would have made Sleeps fourth quiver and shy away. To apologise for causing any problems. The contrast was startling enough to make Sleep pause, an attempt to recess the situation. Pretending to calm so as to get more information out, to reveal more weakness he could exploit.As much as Sleep wanted to strike, he couldn’t risk the very likely possibility of hurting his vessel. Besides, he could feel how IV’s heart pounded as if he’d just ran a marathon, that was enough to be sure this intruder was not unshakable.
If he’d have known that IV’s heart was racing because he was afraid, he might have approached this situation differently.

II doesn’t understand why he suddenly feels like he's jealous that IV flirts with everything that has legs but he does and it’s dumb.
IV has always been like that, for as long as II has known him. Those blue eyes and charming aura just seem to suck everyone in his proximity close to him. He’d normally hook up with someone whenever they were out, even during tours, leaving a long line of broken hearts in his wake. It never bothered II before… did it?
No, no way.
Absolutely not.

II has horrible, awful, terrible, and giant feelings for IV.
He wishes they would just go away, but they haven't. And the stupid guitarist doesn't help when he casually mentions to II that he looks like someone who should always have roses because what does that even mean, and II is left a mess. II also is awful at communicating, is still a virgin, and decides to avoid his problems by getting a belly button piercing and reading Lord of the Rings, but his dumb feelings just won't go away. Stupid IV. Stupid roses.
