When Dazai had jumped, Chuuya almost threw himself over the railing too. He’d stopped himself, gloved hands clutching at nothing but empty space. Whether a scream or lamentation left his lips or not, he can’t remember. He can’t remember if he’d cried. But he indelibly remembers how it’d felt.
Hollow, sick, as if he’d just had part of himself torn away.
Half his very being. Gone.
He knew something inside him had broken. He knew that whatever it had been, it was irreparable now. Shattered into a million tiny fragments.
