John Logan, Garrett Graham's best friend, asked him if it was okay to ask Hannah Wells, Garrett's other best friend, out on a date. Garrett had said yes. He wouldn't be weird about this. He was fine.
Garrett isn't fine with this. Because Garrett has been in love with Hannah, his best friend since they were both five years old, for as long as he can remember. He never found the courage to confess, too afraid he'd hurt her, and now Garrett can feel the future he once envisioned with Hannah slipping away from him.
But even if he isn't fine, Garrett will pretend he is. Because what matters is that the two people he cares about more than anyone else are happy.

“Okay,” Garrett said again, softer now. “I’ve got you.”
Dean laughed, but it broke in the middle.
“Do you?”
Garrett’s face went still.
For one terrible second, the question hung there between them, bigger than Hunter, bigger than Logan, bigger than Allie and her stupid assignment and the blood drying on Dean’s hand.
Then Garrett put one hand on the back of Dean’s neck and squeezed.
“Yeah,” he said roughly. “I do.”My take on what happened after the S1 finale and what I think Jules wasn't telling us about Hunter and Summer but also my personal campaign to make Garrett Graham parent Dean against his will plus a bonus whump Dean chapter that exists solely because I lack self-control and an overnight third chapter because apparently your comments convinced me this fic wasn't chaotic enough without Summer, and me finally giving up and turning this into a one-shot collection.
