Summary

The knight was just as surprised as John when the king started laughing. King Riley had obviously expected to harm his enemy by asking for his heir.

Summary
Before starting his rounds, Soap made a small prayer to the sea, asking for it to be kind and not make his work more difficult after the nightmare of a night he just had. Unfortunately for Soap, his prayer had fallen on deaf ears and it had only taken twenty minutes for the sea to make him regret his earlier thoughts.
About five meters away from where he stood, barely visible through the thick fog, was a tail that resembled a whale's except for its small size. In all his years as a lighthouse keeper, he had never encountered anything quite like the one he was currently looking at. Behind what looked like a mask carved out of bone, two dark eyes were staring at Soap, reminding him of the stormy sky from the previous night, with skin the colour of pale moonlight. The creature in front of him looked like it came straight from that old legend about sea maidens he had been particularly fond of during his childhood.
After a rough night manning the light, Soap has to check the island for stranded boats. What he did not expect was to find a beached merman instead.
