She wasn’t even shameful to admit that sometimes, she imagined the village without her even being apart of it. After all, she appreciated her privacy. It wasn’t like she had anyone to look up to anymore. Anyone she tried to admire always had to leave her. She spent her nights alone as a young child, thinking of how other kids might feel with loving families.
Her life destroyed her. She could never fall into anyone else’s arms. Never again. Not even when one person seemed to care about her more than the others.

Harry lunged for the photo, his bloodied nose dripping crimson onto the paper as he scrambled for something to write with. But Vernon had locked away all of Harry’s things to prevent him from contacting anyone. In desperation, Harry smeared his blood across the photo with trembling fingers, scrawling three words:
Please help me.
He signed it with a shaky, almost illegible ‘Harry’ before stumbling to Hedwig’s cage. He flung the door open and shoved the photo into her talons, his breath coming in sharp, uneven gasps. Vernon’s angry bellows grew louder as he forced the door open, splinters of wood flying into the room.
“T-take it to Professor Snape!” Harry rasped, barely able to speak through the panic and exhaustion.
Hedwig let out a distressed hoot as Harry squeezed her through the narrow bars of the window. He turned just as Vernon burst into the room, his face purple with fury, his breathing ragged.

In contrast, the experimental group is where the independent variables are introduced, which may alternate depending on the nature, type, or anticipated outcome of the experiment. In the case of the experiments performed at Hawkins National Laboratory, scientists experienced a near-total loss of the control group. But what only a handful of people knew was that many of the members of the experimental group survived...and now they were being targeted.

Tim now stared at the papers in his hand with disbelieving eyes. Holy fuck, Bruce is going to kill me.
The buzzing of his phone broke through his thoughts, and for a moment, Tim considered flinging it across the room to shut it up. Then, apparently the phone had been so insistent and non-stop for the past few minutes, that Percy had begun to stir.
Good timing. As soon as Percy's eyes fluttered open, Tim shoved the marriage certificate and license in front of his face.
“Hey, remember last night?” Tim asked as he watched Percy groggily scanned over the certificate.
Tim waited patiently for the man's brain to catch up, watching him furrow his brows as he tried to read the written text over and over. Then, a good few minutes later, he dragged a hand down his face in defeat.
“I'm actually dyslexic,” Percy said, flatly. His eyes fluttered close again.
Tim wanted to shake him.
OR; Tim wasn't one for impulsive decisions, but Percy definitely was.
