Summary
So Jane, huh? Cliff’s mom had always called his eldest sister a ‘plain Jane’ when she didn’t want to get her hair done and ‘dress up nice’ for family shit. He didn’t think Rozanov’s Jane sounded very plain. Sure, Cliff had fucked a girl wearing his number, they all had. But apparently this chick had enough balls to not only tell Roz no, but enough clout to threaten getting him into her Montreal jersey too. He grinned as he headed to the showers. Whose number did she have? One thing he could be sure of was that it wouldn’t be fuckin’ twenty-four.
Or: Five times Cliff learns something about Montreal Jane, and one time he learns her real name.

Summary
It all happens so quickly. One moment, Hayden is moving towards his wife so he can fall apart in her arms, and the next, there’s six feet of oddly nervous Russian hockey player separating Jackie from him.
“Is ok,” Rozanov says, hands in the air as though Hayden’s holding a gun. “Pike, whatever you are upset about. Is not Jackie’s fault.”
Or: Hayden, Ilya, and the mortifying ordeal of being known.

Summary
"Come in.” the boy says impatiently, his Russian enviably flawless.
“Sorry.” Shane mutters back. He’s still working on his vocabulary, but years of listening to Ilya muttering in Russian whenever they were together has given him a pretty good ear for the accent.
“You speak Russian?” the boy demands in rapid Russian. “Do you know what’s going on? Where am I? Where’s my Mama? Who is this fucker?”
“Slowly, please. I am learning. Say it again, please.” Shane replies with deliberate care, stepping into the hotel room and closing the door. “And don’t say fucker.”

“He wants doll brushes because he’s seen the girls at the park brushing their plushies with them. Their dolls too, obviously. But he wants to brush that pelt you brought him-”
David sets his crossword book down, giving Yuna his full attention.
“What?”
“The pelt of fur? Looks like a wolf, or maybe one of those big cats?” Yuna says, waving her hand dismissively. “Either way, I don’t think doll brushes are the right choice. We can look into getting him a set of actual grooming tools, he needs to learn that the right tools for the right job are an important-”
“Yuna. Sweetheart.” David interrupts. “I did not buy our son a piece of dead animal as a souvenir from Russia.”
