Darkness greeted him as he woke. The absence of light wasn't anything new to the child. The lake was full of it. It was all he could ever see, whether he was awake or not. However, the wizened hand reaching for him was not normal. Before he could react, it grabbed him and pulled him up, and, for the first time, the sun's rays cheerfully beamed down at him.
Harry if he was raised by people who actually cared about his survival and well being and if he himself was a little more angry and a little more smart. Also he still gets sucked into the Triwzard Tournament nonsense.
