He obviously knew about Pavlov and his dogs. Really, he did; he'd taken more than a few psychology courses over the past eight years. He knew, of course, that humans were just as vulnerable to behavioral conditioning as less intelligent organisms.

Summary
Amid a stressful shift, Jack finds Dennis talking to Dr Barker - the new radiologist. Only, the conversation seems much too friendly.
Jack is more than happy to set Dr Barker straight, and use the opportunity to remind Dennis of his place.
Dennis is taken to a supply closet and taught a lesson, with some slight help from a clicker.

"I know how it sounds!" he said quickly. "But I’ve already done my psych rotation, okay? And Doctor Robby has been showing some suicidal ideation signs."
Jack clenched his jaw. "Doctor Whitaker..."
"Look, he asked me to watch his house during his sabbatical."
That... was strange. Robby would normally ask Jack to do that. But it wasn't exactly alarming either. It could just be logistics. Or the fact that Jack spent half his time working or sleeping.
Dennis takes his prepositions to the only one who can help: Jack Abbot.

Summary
It turns out that setting up Dennis’ room first had been a mistake, because now they’re forced to figure out how to dismantle the old couch while the (rather impatient) IKEA delivery guy waits outside with the new one, because their lounge is decidedly not big enough for two.
They manage it, though, and eventually there sits the new one, pride of place in the centre of the room.
(The old one makes it out to the yard, protected by the porch until Jack gets around to ‘dealing with it’).
It’s decidedly bigger than the last one, which is very good, but it still fits perfectly in the room, which is great for Jack because even when he’s wearing his prosthetic, tight corners still get him.

Summary
“Look kid.” Dennis hates when Robby calls him that. Or at least when Robby does it to try and emphasise their age gap. It could be hot if Robby didn’t actually treat him like a kid. Like he is right now. “I’m flattered honestly, but you don’t want to date me.”
Dennis barely contains a scoff. Crossing his arms he straightens, standing as tall as possible. Their height difference really doesn’t help Dennis, not when Robby is literally looking down at him all the time. “I wouldn’t have asked if I didn’t want to, Robby.”
