“Who’s Lan Zhan?” he asks.
The pretty man by his side inhales so sharply Wei Ying feels the air get sucked out of the room.

Wei Wuxian's consciousness comes back as a slow rushing of sound. Voices, movement, something that sounds like fire crackling. It flickers behind his eyelids, so chances are, it's probably a fire. Then a shadow falls over him and he groans as he attempts to peel his eyes open. It's not an easy business—they somehow feel both dry and sticky at the same time, and when he manages to open them the tiniest bit, even the dim light around him feels like blinding sunlight. There's pressure in his chest, but at least his breathing is fine.
He has no idea what happened.
OR, Wei Wuxian finds himself in a pickle--and it involves Lan Wangji.

There is something wrong, he feels it keenly. In his youth, when he had longed for another’s touch, or had inadvertently brought himself closer to that person, it was not even close to whatever this is. He had always wanted Wen Ruohan, but this is some sickly, intensified feeling mimicking true desire.
This untrustworthy boy, younger even than his nephew, appears so delicate that Lan Qiren could easily break him in half – and his brief touch makes Lan Qiren shudder, albeit not with revulsion. Thick shame rises in the back of his throat like bad blood to be spat out.
