It reminds him of the drowsiness after being drugged for his gastroscopy. His senses were muted and foggy, his mind woozy and not really lucid.
He was awake when he experienced that, which must mean he’s awake now, too.
A tinge of dread seeps into the lava still coursing through his veins.
Jeongguk attempts to open his eyes again. He’s certain he’s blinking. He can feel the lashes from his upper lines brushing against the delicate skin of his lower lid. Yet, everything remains immersed in impenetrable darkness.
