Summary
She doesn’t have a plan; she’s not sure when she’ll ever have one or when she’ll ever make one. She’s not sure if she’ll find peace with…. Whatever it is she’s doing (acceptance, escape) with these people, but at least she’ll be able to figure something out with… Friends? Companions?
People like me. Or, well, Similar to me. Is the first thought that comes to mind.
She leans her head farther into the wall. It’s better than doing everything by herself.
“Sure.” Ava looks back at her, “Wouldn’t want to let a girl slip up such an amazing opportunity, no?”
It’s better than being alone.OR

Summary
The Sisters part, making space as one of them comes forward.
“This is sister Beatrice. A Proctor at our school in Wallach IX,” the Reverend Mother says. “We’ve determined that she is a sound match for your brother Michael and as requested by your House she is here.”
“My House has made no such request,” Ava raises her chin, but keeps a good grip on the cadence of her tone, “Do not fabricate a story where there is none. Your Proctor is here against my wishes.”
The Sisters barely move—they hardly breathe as the tension settles in the room.

Summary
The Third Interstellar Age has lasted for eight hundred years, and peace in the Scillic Nebula for two hundred. But on Laspell, the most remote of the major inhabited planets, the memory of their victory in the Fourth War of the Scillic Nebula lives long and so too does the shadow of the Trident Cruciform, lost legendary flagship of the conquering admiral Adriel. When disgraced interstellar pilot Beatrice gets an unexpected chance to return to the stars and chase that shadow, the truth she finds will have galactic consequences, and asks whether some things are better left forgotten...

Summary
“The truth is, I was infatuated with her ever since we were kids. She was so beautiful, so kind, and so very smart. I know that's a bit cliché to say, but it's true. She was always out of my league, and when I finally gathered up the courage to ask if I could be her boyfriend, I couldn't believe she said yes. I was so scared she was going to realise she could do better and leave me,” his voice wobbled at the last sentence. He loudly exhales on a wet chuckle, “That day has finally come.”

Summary
“We created it. But, biologically, it’s identical to any other. I have the same need for sleep, food, water.”
“Created it, huh?” Ava leaned a shoulder against the doorframe. “Based on what?”
“Input from our limited data on earth. We developed a cache of features and arranged them.”
“Ah, like create a Sim.” Ava nodded. At Beatrice’s blank look, she said, “It’s an earth game. We’ll play sometime. And, um, you know. You guys did a great job. At arranging.”
“Thank you.” Beatrice blinked. “It was designed to be aesthetically pleasing.”
“So you’re hot on purpose.” She blew out a long breath. “Honestly, thank God. That’s kind of relieving. I was worried I was—”

Summary
“Why are you out here?” The woman asks.
“I don’t really know. You?” She answers truthfully.
“I don’t really know.” She parrots.
"Are you from Niko’s side of the family?”
She laughs lightly. “Oh no, I did the flowers.”
“Oh, well thank you. I liked my flowers.”
Eve cannot recall what her flowers looked like in the slightest. They were probably nice.
***
Eve has a quite average life if you ask her, she works an office job, she goes out for drinks on Friday, and she's marrying a math's teacher. All the trappings of a life destined for predictability. At least that is until her wedding when she encounters a florist who she finds herself running into over and over again. It's not like the intrusion is unwelcome.
