Summary
In a world ravaged by a war with no end in sight, Draco Malfoy has ascended as the Dark Lord’s most trusted shadow, a ruthless commander executing Voldemort’s will with icy precision. Yet, in a move that shifts the very foundation of the conflict, Draco has aligned himself with Alastor Moody, funneling the regime's most guarded secrets to the Order of the Phoenix. While they view him with visceral disgust, the resistance is fully aware that the man who haunts their nightmares is now their most vital source of intel. Hermione, caught in the suffocating tension of the war effort, finds herself crossing paths with Draco in the frantic, blurred lines between the front and the shadows. As the conflict deepens, Hermione begins to perceive the fracturing soul behind the Death Eater’s mask. Despite his history of cruelty toward her friends and the dark reputation he maintains, an undeniable pull forms between them. Caught between her loyalty to the cause and the inexplicable draw of the enemy within, Hermione must decide if she is falling for a man seeking a way out or the most dangerous lie of the war.

Summary
"He sits alone at the head of the Syltherin table, outcast even amongst like-minded peers. He doesn't eat, either. He just sits in silence, staring across the room at the wall as though it isn't there, as though he can see straight through and out into the countryside. Can watch the churning storm clouds outside.
Hermione is tempted to go to him. Tempted to sit in front of him with a smile and press a warm drink into his hands and ask him to come back, to acknowledge that she knows how he feels. To tell him there is another person here who still understands, who hasn’t moved on.
She knows how tempting it can be to sink into the oblivion that occlusion offers. How perfect it can feel to feel nothing at all. After everything, they all deserve a bit of peace.
But Draco Malfoy probably still hates Hermione Granger, and she’s not certain yet whether she likes him that much either. So she doesn’t do any of that. She just stares."

Summary
It took roughly a year to rebuild Hogwarts after the final battle of the war. Now the gates of the school have reopened and a class of eight years has been added for those wishing to return.
Friendless and shunned, Draco Malfoy finds himself back in his old school. His eyes firmly fixed on getting enough NEWTs to be accepted as a Potioneer apprentice. To his utter surprise, he is made Head Boy and to his utter dismay, so is Hermione Granger…
Coming back to Hogwarts fills Hermione with joy and nostalgia. Finally a year she can devote entirely to academics. There is no need to save the world, or keep her two chaotic friends out of trouble. Now, if only she understood why Headmistress McGonagall has made Draco sodding Malfoy Head Boy alongside her…
Get ready for suspicion, cheeky portraits, cheekier gargoyles, attempted civility, a ball, the Slug-Club, and Crookshanks being all up in Draco’s business.Something orange and hairy jumped from the one and only woman he would never have acquiesced to room with. It now sat at his feet, a very ugly and squished face blinking up at him. A loud meow had him frowning down.
“What the hell are you supposed to be?” Draco asked.Bookmarked by M_Bluest
