Summary
It started with a letter.
After watching Draco Malfoy’s trial, I couldn’t stop thinking about him. Could I ever? Ever since our first year, he’s lingered at the edges of my mind, impossible to ignore.
I couldn’t bear the thought of him alone in Azkaban. I’ve seen what it did to my godfather, Sirius—how could Draco fare any better? I could’t pretend everything was normal while he’s trapped in that place.
So with months of planning, months of Hermione’s quiet wisdom, and knowing looks, finally...Draco is coming home. Home with me—his sentence served, and I’m not letting him go.

Summary
Malfoy,
Look, I don’t know why I’m writing this. Or maybe I do, but I don’t really want to think about it too hard.
You probably won’t read this. You’ll toss it aside, scoff, or maybe just pretend it doesn’t exist at all. That’s fine. I wouldn’t blame you. I wouldn’t read a letter from me either.
I just—
I’ve been thinking about the trial. About how everything ended. About how some people got second chances, and some didn’t. And about you.
We spent years hating each other, didn’t we? Years trying to tear each other down. But when it really counted, when things actually mattered, we weren’t standing on opposite sides anymore. And I keep wondering if things could’ve been different. If we could’ve been different.
I don’t know. Maybe this is stupid. Maybe I just don’t like the idea of you sitting in that cell, thinking no one remembers you. Or maybe I just don’t like leaving things unfinished.
You don’t have to write back. But if you do… I’ll read it.
—Harry
___________I stare at the letter, waiting for my brain to catch up.
This must be some kind of joke.

Summary
Draco Malfoy never thought he'd end up working in a muggle pub but after the war, he wanted nothing more than to escape—his past, his family's name, the weight of everything they'd done. Reinventing himself wasn’t easy. The first year had been a struggle, full of second-guessing everything he once knew, and the ever-present shadow of who he used to be. But four years on, he'd finally found his footing.
When Ciarain made a simple suggestion: why not bartending? To Draco's surprise, he fell in love with the job. Something was grounding about it—learning the craft, memorising his regulars’ orders, hearing their stories. He liked the anonymity of it. Among muggles, he was just Drake, the cool and fun bartender, not Draco, the son of a disgraced Death Eater.
With a little luck, he’d managed to avoid most of the frequent unsavoury run-ins with the wizarding world he had grown accustomed to in the first year. Aside from occasional trips to Diagon Alley or visiting his mother, he kept his distance. He liked it that way.
And then, one evening, just as he’s wiping down the counter, preparing for another routine shift—Of all the pubs in London, Harry fucking Potter walks into his bar. -

______
"Your lips look quite soft Potter" Draco whispers as his wand runs along my jaw, lifting my chin so I'm forced to look into the silver pools of his eyes. Swallowing loudly, my adam's apple bobs with the motion.
Draco tilts his head with the corner of his mouth lifting to a smirk, "What's the matter, Potter? Scared? Where's that Gryffindor bravery?" -

Summary
“Well, out with it Harry, what in the bloody hell is going on?” Dean is the first to ask the question they all have.
I give Harry a nod of solidarity. Looking at each person at the table, I state the simplest answer, “Well, as Order Members and Dumbledore's Army you should all be familiar with the letters used to help us during the war.” The silence is deafening, of course they know.
The letters Harry, Ron, and I received throughout our years at Hogwarts and during the war provided us with valuable information. Information that led to us avoiding Snatchers, the Carrows at Hogwarts, knowledge of the Deathly Hallows, Voldemort's Horcruxes and tons of other information that aided the Order against the Death Eaters. Information that played a vital role in winning the war.
“We have come into evidence of the source of the information,” Ron says. Then after a brief pause clearing his throat, “Malfoy.”
Lee’s jaw goes slack. “You mean the Boy in the Stars… is-is Malfoy?"
------
“Draco Malfoy should be receiving an Order of Merlin, not be locked in a cage."
