“You want me to seduce an alpha,” Louis hissed.
“I want you to marry an alpha. It’s the only way I could ever get back on my feet. You didn’t think a few dances at a ball would do anything to Alastair’s reputation or mine...”
“And what if Alastair comes back? Have you thought about him in all of this? You’re going to marry him to an alpha he doesn’t even know!”
“Oh he does know him, in fact... he’d be ecstatic to know he got to marry him.”
Louis’ blood ran cold, already suspecting who was the alpha the earl was talking about.
“Who is he?” he asked anyways, hating how fragile and almost scared his voice sounded.
“Lord Harry Styles.”
Louis' stomach dropped, the words came smelling like danger, sending a bolt of fear down his spine, the Earl wanted Louis to seduce The Duke of Death.

“Zayn,” he murmurs, quietly but desperately.
Knowing what to do immediately, Zayn discreetly glances behind them to scan the room. “Walking over,” he says, confirming Louis’ worst fears.
“Maybe he’ll just pass by without stopping,” Louis says, glancing at the tables next to them as if hoping to find some other group of friends Harry had in high school that he could possibly want to talk to.
Eyebrow arched and lips pursed, Zayn has the nerve to look amused. “He’s looking directly at us.”
“Cause a diversion,” Louis rushes through his teeth, panic clawing up his throat. He can’t look Harry in the face again. Not yet, maybe not ever.
Zayn rolls his eyes and grabs his hand, interlocking their fingers. “It’s now or never, dear.”

Summary
He pries his lids apart, squinting up at the sudden rush of light. The first thing he sees when his vision adjusts is another pair of eyes - blue and concerned. He blinks, wincing when another shock of pain slashes through him.
“I’m going to ask you a few questions, alright?” the person says. Harry can just see his outline, fading into the sky - glowing a bit, like some sort of celestial being. “What’s your name?”
It takes a minute for him to remember how to string words together, mind to mouth coordination disconnected. “Harry Styles,” he says.
