Summary
Presumed beta Ilya Rozanov unexpectedly goes into his first heat at age seventeen, forcing him into a life of hiding in order to be able to play the sport he’d built his life around; the sport that could be his ticket out of Russia and away from his family that hates him. When he meets the Canadian draft favorite, beta Shane Hollander, Ilya assumes that the only obstacles this Hollander guy will be able to throw at him will be dealt with on the ice. But the two rivals find themselves inexplicably drawn to one another, both on and off the ice, entering into a dangerous game of attraction and secrets that neither of them ever expected to play, and one that neither will ever be able to forfeit.

when a locker room video accidentally shows shane hollander's phone as he's texting after a game, it doesn't take long before someone has zoomed in to find out exactly what and who he was texting and even less time before everyone is outraged that shane hollander is a misogynist. because what's okay to send to ilya rozanov isn't exactly okay to send to some girl named lily
