Summary
Did hit horror film Obsession leave you feeling sick and hollow inside? Good news! That ending actually didn't happen.
This alternate ending is told from Sarah's POV. We begin the morning of Ian's party, but in this version of the story, Nikki and Sarah never end up at that house. Instead, Sarah's uneasiness towards Nikki's and Bear's relationship leads her to investigate its origins. When she discovers that Nikki is a victim of a supernatural trap Bear set her in, Sarah hatches a plan. If Bear won't set Nikki free, then she will.

Hastily shaking the box of the One Wish Willow, Sarah caught the trinket in her palm. Attempting to toss the box to the side, though it only slipped from her lap and beneath her shoes in the driver’s seat of her car. Her breathing was jagged, eyes wide and body jolting every slam of the window the man gave it. Sarah couldn’t tell which rhythm was her heartbeat and which was the racket of the demon outside her car door, begging her to stop and put it away.
Bear. Only Bear. Always Bear.

Summary
Bear made a wish out of desperation, for Nikki to love him more than anyone in the entire world. It came true. But the woman who loves him now isn't the friend he knows, she's something born from magic, wearing Nikki's face, desperate and devoted and utterly incapable of being human.
What if Bear didn't run from the consequences of his wish? What if, instead of pretending everything was fine, he faced what he'd created and tried to make it right? This is a psychological exploration of the original film's premise, focusing on the ethical dilemma of loving someone who cannot consent, the erosion of self, and the question of whether a person can learn to be human when they were never meant to be.
For fans of uncomfortable moral dilemmas and characters who are trying, desperately, to be better.
*New Fic* Only one chapter so far, but I'll try to get more published soon! If nothing else, should work ok as a one-shot.
