Megumi found himself sprawled on his stomach, staring at the camellia he must have dropped. Where the camellia was a perfect red, the floor it lay on had been painted in garish reds, blues, blacks, and golds, portraying countless iterations of a fearsome four-armed figure.
He had read about this somewhere. Something about a cup, being spun around, and a flower. The sense of familiarity came and went in less than a heartbeat, elusive like his thready consciousness.
He made the mistake of blinking. When he opened his eyes, it was dark again, and he was on his back on what felt like freshly turned soil. A four-armed figure stood before him but that was as far as his brain could process what he was looking at.

Summary
In the winter that Ryomen Sukuna’s bride should have been born, all but one child had survived. He was an eerie foundling, brought to the village by a one-armed hunter through a vicious blizzard on the darkest of nights. He was no fit choice as a bride and so the village had eschewed tradition and had named Tsumiki the promised one instead of the foundling.
The spirits had taken offence at the deviation. In the year that Tsumiki should have donned red robes for her special day at the foot of Rising Sun Mountain, she had been struck down by a curse that left her in a state of living death. From that moment on, things had only grown worse.
Megumi couldn’t fault the villagers for the way they treated him and his sister. No one was willing to risk angering the spirits lest they suffer the same curse and no one dared to spend time with someone the spirits of the dark had claimed for themselves. Even if the latter wasn’t true, Megumi was the only unattached one in the village and it was only natural that the burden of being Sukuna's bride fell to him.

In the Jomon period, Megumi must make the journey to fulfill an old pact to be the bride of Ryomen Sukuna.
