Only, it wasn't. After Edmund took his last breath, he was shocked to find his ghostly self anchored to his eldest son. Never able to go more than a few feet from his son, Edmund is there for everything that Anthony is. Even the parts that a son never wants his father to see.
Edmund is there that morning when Anthony and Kate meet in the park, and he is the first to see how drawn together they are. Now if only they could see it.
