Summary
Eddie always knew he was a Guide. His parents made their hopes clear, but when he stayed dormant, their disappointment pushed him to move to LA. Buck, on the other hand, thought he was just another face in the crowd until the Navy revealed his life was full of secrets: a lost brother, being a saviour sibling, high sentinel potential, and a dragon mark that sometimes appeared and disappeared. Two years ago, Eddie and Buck met, clashed at first, but soon found their rhythm and became inseparable. Eddie’s wife came back, but passed away, leaving him struggling. Now, as they try to recover after the bombings, an S&G investigation hangs over the 118. “There, uh, was a girl after Ana. Her name was Marisol but…,” Eddie says, looking in Sophia’s general direction but not directly at her. “It didn’t work out. I fucked it up.”
Not what she was expecting Eddie to say but, hey, she can work with that.
“Hey, cheers to that,” Sophia says, clinking their wine glasses. “I’ve done my fair share of fucking up in relationships.”
Eddie hums but doesn’t elaborate on the fuck-up. Which is fine. Sophia may be nosy but she’s not going to pry about something that Eddie clearly doesn’t want to talk about.
“She was a nun,” Eddie says out of left field. Sophia nearly does a spit take.
“A nun?!” Sophia shrieks. “No fucking way.”

Summary
Buck knows three things for certain, and one thing for maybe.
Number one: Eddie does not have a POA.
Number two: if the doctors had come to the waiting room to ask what the group had thought Eddie’s wishes were, all eyes would’ve turned to Buck.
Number three: isn’t that what a POA is, really?
The maybe: Eddie would put Buck in his will a second time.Or: Eddie's hurt on the job. Again. Buck spreads misinformation in the waiting room.
