The Potter's and their friends had been in mourning and they were overcoming it eight years later.
You see, in 2008, a potions addicted Harry overdosed on muggle drugs and after he was released from St Mungos, he disappeared without a trace. He was declared dead in 2009.In 2016, after a large family gathering, the wards surrounding the Potter residence were breached: by a muggle.
